Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by President Cheryl Bealer at 08:35 AM.

Attendance
Members 17.
Affiliates: Delaware Valley, Garden State, Greater Lehigh Valley, Metro NY-Long Island,
North Central PA, South Central PA, Western PA.
Absent: Capital NY and Western NY.
Treasurer’s Report
A detailed report to be provided.
Deb Patterson sent to Youth Rally $2500.00, budgeted.
Web master submitted invoice for $1500.00 to cover 6 months of web design and server.
Tele-Conference in Spring: $350.00/year.

Discussion:
How could we divide up National Lobby?
Brian Lab (Bill Weekly); Bill Applegate and Chris (hot and happening).
Suggestion for 3 Representatives with National Policy position that are new. Acute, HH and
OP/LTC. Jody would be Acute.
Rosemary Kate and Cheryl Bealer are on the Legislative Committee and there is a position for a National Legislative position.
Laurie Barwett attended NIWI and is requesting $725 and $269 x 2 nights. Linda Lochbaum
motioned that Laurie be reimbursed the cost. Seconded by Lynn DeMartyn, passed by all
attending.
Another motion by Pat Ginsberg that Lauri join the National Legislative Board, seconded by
Barbara Bedell and agreed by all.
Youth Rally
No new updates.
Bylaws
Changes were posted on the website, vote completed by email.
Bylaw changes passed and accepted.
Ballots sent: 570 - Returned: 232 (42%) - Supported change: 204 - Opposed:19 - Blank: 9

Conference Planning
Conference Planning by Kelly Klucsanski: See handout of Expense Budget.
Registered 165 with 22 first timers.
Post card and electronic voting decreased cost.
2011 maybe electronic download instead of binders.
Convatec Great Come Back Award saved us the cost of the sit down dinner. The awards
were geared to youth, adult and scholarship.
Booths at Conference - 53, Average for Conference is 50-55.
Vender's tend to reply for Conference after July (budget time).
Fund Raisers are allowed at Regional.
Atlantic City - 2010.
Flash drives from this Conference is being passed along by Kelly Kluscanski.
Membership
New address to go to Maureen.
Current list of graduates being requested from schools.
*Affiliate Trustee/President asked to forward membership information to Maureen vis email.
Welcome letter and conference information is mailed to a new person.
Cheryl Bealer recognized Maureen for her hard work to improve our membership.

3 nominations, Phylis Green, Joyce Donohue and Linda Lankenau.
There is no criteria for the Nurse of Distinction Award.
Patty Shaw may have info on Nurse of Distinction and list of recipients.

Increase in scholarship dollars.

Conference planner worked well for Metro NY (Helms Brisco).
Speakers are an issue.
Conference Planning Committee (2-3 years).
Corporation compliance laws have changed in Corporate.
Preceptor update list needs be updated during general meeting.
Update mailing routinely.
Would National be liable for person? Relating to Conference?
Spring Budget Board meeting March 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM.
Goals and Changes: Affiliates be aware National requires National Membership
to be and Affiliate Member.
Motion made by Mary Jo Hathaway changing Board meeting times to 9-12 noon for Conference 2010, seconded by B. Bardell and passed by all.

Mary Lakazowski to be in honored in NY Times Magazine, November 2009 as Nurse

2010 Conference location changed to central location to increase attendance. Member to
attend post conference meeting.
Dates October 22-24, 2010 in Atlantic City. Topic - Surviving the Ways of Change.

National News:
Get conference rooms for National early.
End of October a conference call with National and Regional Presidents.
Communications of Regional Members with National Members need to help with questions
and concerns as to who to contact.
Myra Reeves (NY) received letter from National, $1500.00 available for scholarship fund.
Look for revision is the scholarship fund.
ANA encouraging "Pushing" for us to be involved.
