Treasurer's Report - Angie Lauer
NER Refund - $1000.00
Dues are now due.
The NER donated $1000.00 to the Colon Cancer Challenge.
GLVWOCN donated $500.00 to the Colon Cancer Challenge.
October Conference netted a $30K profit.
Old Business:
Colon Cancer Challenge - Cheryl and Kelly represented our local affiliate and presented a check on behalf of the NER

The founders of the challenge would like 1000 nurses next year so please consider participating (2nd or 3rd weekend
in March).
Legislative Update:
Public Policy Committee changing format, WOCN is looking at ways to streamline.
Watch for CMS changes and changes to physician reimbursement.
Please keep abreast of info via ANA website.
NJ has contracted with WECI and is offering reimbursements for certified nurses (new ANCC recognition of WOCN should bring awareness to this).
CA is pushing for Ostomy supplies to be considered "cosmetic" and not medically necessary.
New Business:
3 WOCNS will be sponsored by the NER to attend Youth Rally.
NER is looking into hiring an event planner for conference planning.
Please check NER website there are many improvements and changes.
The Affiliate list has been sent to Barry Bontempo for next regional conference - please note there are several
conferences in Atlantic City area the same weekend, please plan accordingly.
National Conference - most rooms are booked. Cheryl B. will be attending; please forward any concerns for her to
present prior to June.
A vote was cast to change all Affiliate meeting times to 3:00pm. The motion was unanimously passed, no further
discussion required.
WOCN Sharing:
Lindsay Clauser passed her wound portion of the WOCN certification.
The Reading Hospital Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center received UHMS certification, one of only
102 wound centers in the world to receive the distinction, and also received Diversified Clinical Services
"Center of Distinction" award for 2009.
Leslie Washuta wrote an article for "The Phoenix" on Ostomy care.
Norristown Area Hospital is hiring a wound nurse - see Pearl for more information.
"Kudos" to St. Luke's Wound Center for their piece on WFMZ.
Janne Ruffini presented to the Reading Surgical Institute.
There is a new video posted on the UOAA website - "Living with an Ostomy"
St Luke's Wound Care Center is now open and prividing HBO, they are building another site as well.
Carol Balcavage has retired to sail.
Next Meeting:
The next meeting will be hosted by Carol Schaeffer and Leslie Washuta on August 18 at 3:00pm, location and
sponsor to be determined.
There will be a vote for Treasurer and President Elect.
Reading to hast Thursday 12/19, location and sponsor to be determined.
